Holiday Style with JDWilliams

#Ad This is a Summer fun collab with #JDWilliams

Its that time of year when we’re all on holidays/thinking of holidays/trying to escape somewhere. Even if its a stay-cation or a full fortnight away, the holiday wardrobe is one of the most important considerations for us ladies. I hate being a chronic overpacker so over the years i’ve trained myself to pack smart and only take things i love and know i will wear.

I’ve teamed up with the lovely brand JD Williams for some fun holiday outfits.

The past weekend the husband and i drove 30 minutes down the road to the world famous Celtic Manor Resort (more on that soon). I knew we had meals planned, pool and i needed something nice to wear for walking around and exploring. Come see what i took and why..

The dress it up or down dress

Floral Wrap Midi Dress Big Statement belt Espadrilles

Dresses are always a priority for me and i make sure wherever i go i take a dress that can be dressed up or dressed down. This wrap floral midi is dress perfection for holidays. The flattering wrap style adds an elegance to this pretty number, but what most important is how it can be styled. Wear out for the evening with some heels, a statement belt like here, and a cute bag and you’re evening ready. But this dress will also work tremendously well with some flat sandals, a little denim jacket or caridgan and the simple string wrap belt. You could even layer a lace edge vest underneath for more layers/coverage. This one of the nicest dresses i currently own. The bold and rather striking floral print has such a wow factor, it truly looks like you’ve made an effort. Its such a simple dress that really packs a punch.

Swimwear and Coverups

Whether you’re on a spa weekend or full on summer sun with the pool and sea at hand for splashing, swimwear is one of your summer holiday necessities. I’ve spoken openly amount my body loathing, and the only thing that gets me in the water (other than my shower) is nice swimwear. The Magisculpt is all black classic swimsuit is perfect if, like me, you’re not keen on putting yourself quite literally out there. The hold-you-in sculpting helps to smooth while the ruching helps to make me feel like i’m less on show around my midriff… This is in the interest of honesty, me and the below images aren’t friends, to say i’m happy with them would be a lie(actually it’s not the photos fault, its just how i look, and sometimes i have to admit, it;s hard to look at), but i just want to emphasise that regardless of your body, getting out there this summer and enjoying it is so much more important than hiding away. And what definitely helps is great swimwear. I’ve said it before , and i’ll no doubt say it again. Get a piece that you feel comfy in, that feels like it’s working with you and not against you and you’re halfway there. This fabulous kimono helps as i feel less exposed when i’m walking around too.. highly recommend. By adding some gold shoes, some earrings and a red lip, i’m drawing attention away from other bits.

Daywear that can be remixed

Red and Floral Shorts, Black Broderie Bardot Top Black Espadrilles, Beaded bag

When it comes to day wear for holidays, i like practical and pretty and things that can be remixed/reworn throughout your stay. I’ve gone with these fabulous red short , the tailored style means they’re smart, smart enough to dress up with some heels and a pretty top, add some jewellery and you’ve got a pulled together evening look. But these clever little shorts can also be worn thrown over your swimsuit, with a simple little white vest top and sandals, or with a denim jacket or even blazer.

So tell me, do you pack like a maniac for summer holidays, or are you a clever packer?
