A little night out-Get Ready With me

#ad this is part of my paid monthly ambassadorship with Studio

So i thought id do a different kind of blog post today, I love get ready with me style vlogs, so i thought i’d translate that in to written format with a little get ready with me blog post, showing you what i do from the start of the evening to the end result! So come a long and see what i do to get ready for an evening out with the husband.

I start with washing my hair earlier on in the day and letting it air dry with these two products. I know i’m going to curl it later so i start by putting on a little product to give my hair a little texture which will help the curl ‘stick’. I LOVE the OGX range and this curl cream and texture spray works really well for me. Quite often i will just use this for a rough wavy “beachy hair” look. It’s also the perfect lazy curl solution(i am so hair lazy) as you just pop it in wet hair and let the product do the rest:)

We arrived at our hotel for the night and dumped our bags. We’ve been away a few times for short breaks this year and these bags have been my saviour, they keep me organised and are the perfect size for short breaks. I have the vanity bag for all my cosmetics, the smallest for my weekend makeup and, obviously, the holdall carries both mine and my husbands clothes. Its deceptively big and carries A LOT.. which is great for a serial over-packer such as myself (weekend away= 12 dresses, right? Totally normal). This set is actually a 4 piece (i left the large bag at home) and is shockingly only £19.99.. yes you read that correctly. The large carrier also has trolley wheels and a handle so you can wheel your way around.. its just wheely good -eh get what i did there.. ok i’ll stop 😉

I brought away with me the perfect hair tool. Perfect because it’s just one tool but can straighten and deliver the best curls. I hate taking multiple hair tools away with me but i also like to feel like i can style my hair which ever way the mood strikes, and this fantastic tool is perfect for that. Babyliss Straight and Curl, does what it says on the tin, but does it REALLY well. The curved metallic barrel enables the perfect curl. I have never been able to create a good curl with straighteners before, my coarse hair doesn’t glide through the plates (even with GHD which people swear by, i have them and still no curls!). This hair tool works incredibly well, it glides over the hair, whether that be twisting for a curl or straight for glossy polka straight locks. It leaves them shiny, glossy and holds the style all day (and the next). There are 5 heat levels (i have thick coarse hair so always choose the highest) and a light indicator that shows you when the heat is right. Because the plates heat up well and glide across the hair i found it to be the quickest styling tool i’ve used. My hair normally takes a good 20 mins to style but this did it in half the time.

The end result. Perfectly curled locks that took about 10 minutes. I usually brush my fingers through them to loosen them in to waves or shujj them up a bit.

I always like to get ready in my pj’s.. do you? Do you get dressed and then do your hair and makeup? Or are you like me and stay in comfies till the last minute? It’s cute pj’s all the way for me.

Next up is makeup, I’m just touching up what i already had on from the day, so go in with a little more bronzer, blush and eyeshadow.

I didn’t know until recently that Studio has an amazing range of Makeup, they have everything from purse friendly brands such as W7 (one of my faves, i’ve worn their products for years and written about them many times here on the blog) to Rimmel and even high end like Stila and Becca. They also stock a great range of brushes including Real techniques.

Hair done, makeup done and dress is on!

I’m obsessed with Polka dots right now, so this spotty number caught my eye straight away, the frill hem and faux wrap style make the dress supper flattering and is the type that would suit most body types i think. I love how thew little tie belt matches the smaller spot print on the frill edge.. such nice attention to detail. You could of course swap the belt out for a coloured belt or a cinch in style for a different look which would be fab to remix and play around with. I also think this would look good with some white trainers and a biker jacket for a cool chilled/smart look.

Feeling pretty swishy we headed off for our night out together.

The hubby making a rare appearance
Eating gorgeous food at Pad restaurant (more on that soon)

Happiest with a drink in hand (Disaronno and cranberry juice is delish!) and great food I am in my absolute element. The dress felt great on, really comfy and not restrictive at all.. perfect for consuming copious amounts of gorgeous food and drinks.

And that was our lovely evening. I hope you liked this style of post for a bit of a different style.

Let me know if you’ve been out lately and what you wore? I love hearing about night out outfits!
