Ahh British Summer you are a fickle fickle beast aren’t you. With our ever changing weather it makes for summer shopping and dressing a fun little challenge each day at least.
There are a few things though that i will invest in and and wear over and over. My Summer essentials as it were.
So if you’re looking to update your wardrobe for the Summer, then i’d definitely recommend investing in pieces that are versatile. From wearing them in the UK to taking them away on your Summer breaks, you want to make sure you’re wearing pieces you can get the most out of. Because we all know, I love to get my moneys worth out of my clothes.
So for this collaborative post I’m talking about my 3 summer must haves so far this year:
The light weight Jacket
Perfect for Spring and Summer this piece is a great addition to your wardrobe. There’s a style to suit everyone, from denim jackets to light weight tailored pieces, so no matter your personal style you’ll be able to find something! Choosing a classic colour that is simple works best as this is a piece you can wear from season to season and you don’t want to waste your money on something that will be out of fashion within a few months.
The Summer Trouser
A nice alternative to denim jeans, trousers can be stylish and are a great piece to add to your wardrobe, especially as it heats up throughout the Summer but perhaps you don’t want to get your legs out.. fake tans disasters, lack of tan in general or maybe, like me, some days you just don’t feel like getting your legs out.
Take the time to find styles that suit you, it took me a few attempts, from straight legged, cropped or wide leg, there are plenty of places on the high street such as bonmarché that have some great options. You want to make sure what ever you choose is something you feel comfortable in and can wear right throughout this season to the next. If you normally choose black as your trouser colour, why not try mixing it up and choosing other shades such as navy to help refresh your outfits. I am loving all things navy this summer.
If you’re not much of a heels fan, then sandals can be such a great way to dress things up a little in the Summer. With plenty of styles available, you’ll be able to find something you feel comfortable in and can wear from time to time. From weddings, Summer parties or any getaways you have planned, you’ll be able to get a lot of wear out of a comfortable, versatile sandal, heeled or not! A great holiday addition, the heeled sandal can take you from day to night so easily and without having to change much else to your outfit. If you want to make things a little more dressy, then choose a style with a block heel, for ultimate ease to walk in!
