Spring Trends with Lilac & Gingham( & join us for #WhatMamaWoreMonday linkup)

I had been mentally planning this outfit for about two weeks. I knew i wanted some lilac in my life after loving all the blush tones of late, lilac seemed like a good side step. And i was not wrong. It is such a pretty and jolly shade that just screams Spring. Thankfully this weekend we were at the in laws in Hertfordshire and their weather agreed that it was time Spring showed us some love, which made this outfit pretty much perfect.

Whilst walking around the shops with my gorgeous friend Allie we noticed there was a lot of lilac in the shop windows, making this a trend to most definitely try. The good thing about lilac, like blush pink, there are quite a lot of different shades to try and hopefully one out there that will suit you. I never thought it would be for me to be honest, but this darker based hue of lilac suited me just right. There are some gorgeous off white/lilacs and then some mid tones too, but if you’re looking for a way to bring a bit of spring in to your wardrobe, lilac is definitely worth a try.

I also paired this with my rather amazing gingham trench coat that was brand new but i won on ebay. It was one of those things i just had to have as it felt perfect for transitioning in to spring. M&S have one currently and it is gorgeous (i’ve linked it below for you). Gingham is another trend that will be big this Spring and is such a fun easy print to wear.

I finished off with my trusty vans and my new gorgeous wide leg turn-up trousers, which are the most insanely comfy trousers i’ve ever bought, totally and utterly worth every penny of their £35.00 price tag as they hang beautifully, they have some give in them so are comfy, yet retain there shape completely. I went for the short as i love how they hit the ankle, which again is perfect for flashing some initial flesh for spring.. an ankle is plenty as its still chilly, lol!

Are you shopping for Spring yet? Are there any styles you fancy trying?
