Socks & Shoe Trend.. One To Try (& #Passion4Fashion Linkup)

Socks and shoes, a trend i have been eyeing up for some time. I love to see those socks poking out of trainers, boots or shoes, it just a\dds a wonderful dynamic to footwear, giving the shoe a new look almost, and also on a practical note it makes some of those pretty shoes we own more practical to wear on those cold winter days as well as making them a little more dressed down. My first attempt lately has been with ankle grazer jeans and my vans. I wore therm with a subtle sparkle sock and loved the contrast.

So how to achieve the trend?

First

Buy yourself some gorgeous womens socks that you will want people to see, no more grotty grey holey socks, we want nice socks on show only here please 😉 For me i love the glitter socks for adding a bit of sparkle, but some cartoon type (see Susiesoso’s below) also work well. I love the idea of some striped or spotty socks too. There are so many great options to try, my step daughter loves a pretty frill sock contrasting against a chunky pair of boots. Fishnet socks also look seriously ‘on point’.

Second

Select your shoe that will work well with your socks.  This is easy as its pretty much every shoe. If you’re not feeling very daring to begin with start with boots and just flash a bit of sock, and trainers just naturally lend themselves to be worn avec socks, so nice and easy to start. Then once you’re ready trial the socks with court shoes, loafers and brogues, avoid ballet flats, in my opinion it just doesn’t work as well.

Shoes To Try

Third

Trouser length is super important, you want to show those socks and shoes off so ankle grazer length is important. Tailored trousers or ankle length jeans work best as you don’t want to swamp your ankles therefore hiding the statement.

I actually got some pretty looking socks last fall to try out this trend but I only did it once because then winter came in hard and I had to surrender to heavy boots haha but I’m definitely gonna wear it this spring, I think it looks so cute with sneakers and skirts or dresses.

I wear socks and shoes all the time, but only with boots or with those little ankle socks that you can’t see when I’m wearing my converse, haha! I don’t wear heels often so I doubt I’d be able to pull off a pair of heels and socks, haha!

Thank you for the link up!

Hope that you have been having a good week and have a nice weekend ahead. It’s been a bit crazy here! The weekend will be a good change of pace. 🙂

I just wore socks with a low-heeled pair of loafers the other day. I thought it looked cute, and it was cool out.
