Polka Dot Revival

I say revival but have polka dots ever really been far from our style radars? Those lovely spots and dots are pretty much a classic that is up there with stripes and leopard print, it is infact practically an honorary neutral.

I haven’t worn many spots the past couple of years, i always fear it looking too cutesy on me, which just my own weird mental thing, but i have to say i have had a real hankering for those spots of late, and i realised i already own a few spotty pieces too.

I bought this skirt back last spring with the intention of wearing it all year round, but then promptly forgot about it as soon as the last hurrahs of summer quickly past. But it works so well. Polka dots are everywhere right now from the most divine polka dot dresses (below) to simple blouses and knitwear. Its a trend that is trans-seasonal and i for one am totally onboard with that!

Spring inspiration

There’s a way to wear spots for everyone(don’t those Zimmerman beauties just scream spring.. oh spring i can’t wait to see you!)

Asos Dot Jumper

I bought this last week and I can’t wait to wear it with my faux leather skirt and boots, but also just like the model it is such a great casual piece too, so shall wear it with my beloved new Vans (more on those soon) and levi’s for casual days..which is most days in my life 😉 I can see this jumper being a piece i will use all year round as the light knit will work throughout the seasons. For £25.00 it seems a good investment.

Polka Dot Maxi Dress

I’ve seen this dress a lot on social media and I have to say it looks fab. If i didn’t already own this one (see, i own way more polka dots that i remembered!) I would definitely be giving this dress a try. I think with some knee high boots it could look great, and even some brightly coloured sock boots for an evening out. It would also lend itself beautifully to be worn with a denim jacket and white trainers come spring too. What a fab dress!

Mango Jumpsuit

Well, hello dreamy jumpsuit **insert heart eye emoji here** This looks like such a fantastic piece. You could wear this to a meal out, dress it up for a wedding or even down with trainers again. Versatility right there in the form of a spotty jumpsuit. Brilliant. I love that this one piece is a no brainer and makes getting dressed so easy. Again, this will work year round, sock boots or sandals, you’re on to a winner.

Ganni Dress

This Ganni dress is investment worthy i think, considering polka dots never really go out of fashion, this would be a fab investment dress and the wrap front makes this extremely flattering.

Finishing with Asos Polka Dot Skirt  as a skirt option like mine today, this again is such a wonderful piece for remixing with things you already own. Adding it in to your wardrobe you will see that so many of your jumpers and sweaters will work with it. Or slogan tshirt and cardigan now then denim jacket and a cami come summer.. Adding in a skirt to your wardrobe opens up a number of remix options, which really is clever dressing maths!

So tell me, do you care for a spot of polka dot?

Do you own many pieces and would you invest in some?

I love the sexy curves that polkadots add to a woman’s form when she wears them! One of the reasons I love to always have a polkadotted bathing suit in the summer!
