This coat has barely left my back since i bought it on December 23rd. It was just hanging there on the sale rail, in my size. I had been searching for this exact coat on the Topshop website for two weeks prior as i had a dream of owning a pink fluffy coat and had seen the topshop one on instagram. But at the time i could not find it for love nor money. And then on a day just before christmas when i had taken the step daughter out to buy some last minute things, there it was!
I literally dropped my bags, threw off my current coat and tried it on and walked around the shop looking for a mirror to tell me what i already knew. It was perfection.
I rang the husband (I don’t normally for any of my purchases, but i had just had a new coat for my birthday 3 weeks ago at that point and even i was aware that it was a little excessive to buy another coat, plus 2 days before Christmas, with an already over indulged month of spending seemed possibly wrong, but not enough for me to put the coat down) giddy with excitement over the pink fluffy coat of dreams and his response was “Buy it babe” .
I honestly have planned the majority of my outfits around this coat ever since. I have to forcibly make myself wear my other coats just so i’m not wearing this one all the time. If i wasn’t a ‘style blogger’ (and i use that term very loosely) and i didn’t post daily outfit pics, then i would be wearing it every day.
Its wonderful dusky pink shade is more versatile than i first realised and lends itself well with lots of colours and style.
Since buying this I’ve seen lots of ladies wearing and buying pink fluffy coats, i think its a brilliant way to inject some spring colour whilst its still drab and in the depths of winter.
For a simple day of school run and errands i teamed it with my trusty breton top, comfy jeans and my new beloved vans. These are another recent purchase that i simply can’t get enough of. So comfy and again really do go well with lots of outfits. I love them paired with little ankle socks, i think the look is a bit preppy but cute.
This year i see my style being a lot more casual and i’m really ok with that.
I finished the look with a big oversized scarf that i picked up for £5.00 reduced from £26, which just so happens to work perfectly with the fluffy coat of dreams.
If i had to wear an outfit all week long, it would, without doubt, be this one. Simple, comfy but felt so so nice. I was beaming all day long, and that can only mean one thing… It really was a nice outfit.
