We have had the most miserable weather of late. Gale force winds and rain, majority of the time. As if January didn’t suck enough as it is, Mother Nature really decided to put us to the test.
But with rain and cold temperatures also comes the perfect excuse to hunker down with loved ones, curling up on the sofa with blankets and reading till my hearts content.
When i put this outfit together i new i wanted to add my Levis shirt under the raspberry jumper. Bizarrely i’m not one for layering much, i always feel to bulky, too lumpy and that nothing sits right, so i avoid it wherever possible. But i think for the first time in a long time, i got it right. I was warm and comfy and the outfit lent itself perfectly to be worn with my statement coat from my Birthday. I haven’t worn it since December (shame on me) as i’ve been crushing hard on my pink coat (see fridays post) which felt like a fresh new colour for the new year, but as soon as i slipped the heavily draped coat on, i rememebered how nice it felt and how it easily makes a look.
I finished the look with a preppy twist with my Adidas Gazelles and my navy baker boy, two things that i love and happily wear on repeat. I can’t believe how much i’m in to the whole sneakers/trainers thing. I mean they’re so so flippin’ comfy, its hard to not to love them, but its not just that, i love the juxtaposition between the outfit and how it can be smart but then instantly made more casual with the trainers.
(These Adidas Gazelles are currently on sale for £55.00 which is an absolute bargain and they’re available in most sizes!)
Do you own any trainers/sneakers that you were for every day wear and not sports?
