Stylish Snow Day Outfit ( & #Passion4Fashion Linkup)

Before i get in to it today i just want to say that this is my 1000th published post! Eeeekk!! How crazy, six and a half years of blogging, what a journey its been. I have a few exciting things coming up so make sure you check in regularly over the next couple of weeks.

Ok on to the matter in hand..

Last weekend saw our temperatures plummet and snow graced a lot of the UK. When i say a lot of the UK i mean it missed me. We had slush and frigid temperatures and for an hour or so it looked like it could potentially settle but yeh.. no snow days here sadly. But we did have flurries and we did have freeeezing temperatures so i dressed for a snow day anyway.

Its been super cold here for the past week or so and i’ve honestly just wanted to hibernate and not think much about style, opting more for warm (well except for the day my car broke down and i was wearing the worst possible outfit) and cosy. Skiwear isn’t the height of fashion though is it really and doesn’t make for a good outfit photo. But i think i nailed snow day style (or freezing temperature style as it turned out with the no show snow!) with this look and still managed to be toasty warm.

There are two main components of this look that make it for me.

The first is :

The Duffle Coat

This coat has been a complete saviour lately, its neutral colour lends it self to almost any outfit and its warm duffle fabric makes it toasty and warm. I absolutely love the toggle fastening and big patch pockets too. The best thing for me is the hood. Most hooded coats are a bit ugly really, or not ugly but super casual like a parka or what a refer to as a dog walking coat. I love how a duffle coat can still look smart (granted its not business wear, but y’know smart-casual) and yet covers you against the elements too. It rains a lot here so having a coat to chuck on that has a hood is an absolutely god send. I had a duffle coat years ago that i absolutely loved but when i lost weight i gave it to charity. I now can’t imagine not having a duffle coat in my life, it is one coat that i highly recommend.

Mine is currently on sale here (and is half price) but below are a few more amazing duffel coat options also ( i love the navy and blue.. they are dreamy)

The next item i could not live without

Sorel Boots

The perfect icy/snowy weather footwear. I got my first pair about 2 years ago now and i would not see another winter without them. Unlike an Ugg style boot these are perfect for wetter conditions and have great gripper soles to prevent any slips. Plus they’re really comfy 🙂 I honestly can’t think of a better winter boot to keep your toes cosy and dry. The ones i’m wearing are The Carnival cosy boots (Top centre row), love them in the blue.

Shop Sorrel Boots

The rest of the outfit is pretty simple, a cosy red knit, a tartan/ plaid scarf  and essential bobble hat some faux leather trousers, which are perfect for snowy days as the wet slush wipes right off, Its like they’re more attractive water proofs haha, and that’s cold weather style done and done.

What do you wear on snowy super cold days?

Do you have any cold weather essentials?

Don’t forget there’s a ‘LIKE’ button below the post for if you don’t have time to comment (or would like to like and comment of course, that would always be lovely!)

AND if you pop back on MONDAY there may be a new link up in town 😉

What a lovely cosy outfit! I like the red jumper and boots, with the tartan scarf it’s just the perfect combination. The snow looks pretty int he photos too, even if it didn’t hang around!

Thank you for the link up!

Hope you are having a good week so far and you’re getting organised for Christmas! I finished my shopping, just waiting for it all to arrive in the mail now haha.

It’s such a challenge to look stylish when it gets really cold, isn’t it? I invested in a pair of Sorel-like boots last year and it really makes all the difference. Love that blue duffle coat you linked to – what a great colour!

Such a stylish and cosy outfit! I love your duffle coat, camel and red look great together. Those boots look so comfortable, I have a pair of FitFlop boots which are very comfy but not really for very wet weather. I should invest in some sturdier boots like these. Thanks for hosting, hope you have a great weekend and congrats on your 1000th post!
