Say Hello to the New Rachel The Hat Site

Well Hello and welcome to the brand new layout of Rachel The Hat!

I’ve been contemplating changing from blogger to wordpress as suggested by many online friends, and i finally took the plunge and went the whole hog with a new design to bring things up to date.

Just a quick note, there is a rather cool new feature at the bottom of each post where you can share the post on twitter Facebook etc, of course if you would like to share this piece i would love that and so feel free to share away.

There’s also a fab little LIKE blue button, so if you don’t have time to comment i would love if you could hit the like button so i can see you’ve been around here and enjoyed 🙂

Also my latest Youtube video will be pinned on the main homepage and on the sidebar, so if you ever fancy a gander at me blabbering on then you will always find me there!

I feel like i’ve fallen back in love with blogging lately, or rather I feel inspired to make content again. I’ve always put effort in to my corner of the world wide web, but i feel i may have lost a bit of me along the way. As blogs become more polished and more professional and more driven to make money (me included, this is after all my day job!), I feel like some personality can go astray. When blogging first started out it was a  personal website, a diary entry system almost, where we would document our outfits, our lives and talk about things we’d been doing, things we loved that week and create content that was really just a reflection of who we are. Don’t get me wrong, the page views are always gratefully received, as when you write something and put it out there you generally want it to me read. And of course i would be lying if i didn’t mention that i’ve moved to wordpress to boost SEO and to hopefully drive more traffic etc, but i really do want to be as authentic here as much as possible. This is a huge chunk of my life after all (not that i haven’t ever been authentic with you guys.. guides honour! I think what i mean is, show and talk to you more about the real me  and whats been going on)

Last weeks post on blogging these days had such great insightful comments it made me realise how blogs have now become a way of life, like reading a newspaper or magazine, reading your favourite blogs is now part of our routines.

I’m happy to have seen how blogging has grown and changed and how its accessible to so many. I’m so happy people have made careers out of it, it is a crazy and wonderful thing.

I want to bring a bit of my chatty nature ( I am a very Chatty person if you didn’t already know from my Youtube and Instagram) back to this blog, to the point where i’m thinking about writing a blog/diary entry once a week (or maybe not as structured as once a week… Maybe as and when, but it would be just a personal post about life. Would you guys want to read that?

I also want to bring more beauty in too as i love finding great beauty products, trialling and testing and then using them to death then hopefully recommending them to you.

And of course style. I will be bringing you style posts of course. Every Monday and Friday there will be a style post from me prancing around in whatever clothes i love that week.

WOW your blog looks amazing! Are you using the free version of wordpress or the paid one, if you don’t mind me asking because I’d really like to upgrade my blog to wordpress as well, I just don’t know if the paid version is worth it just yet. And that outfit is super cute, I love the colours.
