Looking After Your Skin at 30

I am fast approaching 30  ( 2 months people!) and the one thing i’ve noticed is how the wrinkles have most definitely started to appear. Especially around my eyes.
It’s fair to say my 20’s had a fair few stressy/sleep less nights. Add in children to the mix and well my skin is no longer baby fresh.
I am completely ok with ageing naturally, but my skin currently feels so bleugh (technical term there folks), like its screaming out for a little extra nourishment.
Having tried numerous shop bought ‘entry level’ creams and potions, and really having no improvement, i am yet to find a facial routine that actually sticks.
With that in mind i turned to Salon Skincare for a more high end, professional product.
After many hours watching YouTube videos i’ve decided to try out the well recommended brand of Elemis.

For me my ‘problem area’ is the eye area. Apparently no amount of sleep even helps the situation anymore (although i haven’t tested that out, sleep is actually even harder to come by then a great eye cream, so im reaching for the eye cream.. i can throw money at this and it will come my way.. no money can be thrown at my lack of sleep situation! Pity.), so this is what i’m hoping to improve with a lovely lotion or potion that makes me appear like i sleep a well rounded 10 hours a night and that i have zero stress in my life (pah! can you imagine!).

I am going to trial the Elemis Advanced Treatment to hopefully help smooth and firm the eye area.

I have high hopes to go along the high price tag for this product but I really hope it’s something i will love and see results. I shall keep you posted on the results/thoughts on the hopefully, miracle serum 😉

What do you use for your facial potions?

Is there a brand that you normally stick with and would recommend?
Any advice you have would be gratefully received, i do love to hear personal experiences, recommendations are always what i go on when buying new products!

Ever since I moved from Italy to Switzerland my skin has become SO dry. I now use Nivea cream (the one in the blue tin) at night and my skin drinks it up. It's cheap and effective. No miracles yet, though!

I like Peter Thomas Roth eye cream and Estee Lauder advanced night recovery complex serum II. And for cleansing it is Mary Kay 3 in 1.

I swear by Elemis, especially their Papaya Enzyme Scrub…nothing leaves my skin feeling fresher. I know what you mean though, I can hear 30 knocking loudly on my door! xx

Oh Rachel I am now the wrong side of 40!! I hit 41 in 2 wks time! Ugh! Yes..look after your skin & start now & be religious about it! Plenty of water & sunblock in the warmer months too! I still have days when I don't remove my make up before bed but always regret it! I've been using Olay & L'Oreal for years & now use an oil at night & my skin is happy with that trio! Ax
