Wearing Summers Hot colour: yellow

I find yellow to be one of those colours you either love or loathe. Personally, i love this cheerful happy colour but understand that it can be quite difficult to wear. This little dress made wearing yellow easy for me. Floaty chiffon in yellow and neutral rounded off with some simple black and gold accessories rather than adding in more colour.  The neutral patches break up the full on yellow and the light floaty fabric means it doesn’t look like too much of one block colour.
Are you a yellow lover?
You guys know me i will try most any colour, but understand that yellow can be a little tricky.
What are your thoughts on yellow? Dare to wear or avoid at all costs?

Dress: Sheinside (also from Zara)

Shoes: Peacocks (again also from Zara)

Clutch: Primark

Yellow looks gorgeous on you! I love yellow, but I can't wear it unless it is a mustardy yellow.

With your dark hair and colourings you look stunning in yellow Rachel!! I love this dress on you! I just recently wrote a post on how yellow was a colour I always thought I couldn't wear but then I did and I kind if loved it. Sometimes I think you have to forget the rules and just go with what you love.

I used to hate and shun yellow but now I don't mind it! Your dress is great.

Gorgeous photos as always, Rachel! I loooooove yellow. I'm the same way- I will attempt to wear any color (except I tend to stay away from neutrals especially beiges because I just get kind of "bored" with them, you know?).

One time, in my art history class, the professor was explaining a Van Gogh painting and how he always used reds, oranges, and yellows in his paintings to express his inner unhappiness and distress. She said that yellow was the main color in which distress and restlessness is expressed… Well, guess who just happened to be wearing the brightest yellow sweater that day? Ha, yep….me. While everyone else was wearing grays and blacks…haha…it was a bit awkward but I don't think anyone really noticed… 😉

OH. MY. GOD. You have to stop doing this to me Rachel… the dress is beyond beyond (yes I meant to write 2 x beyonds)! You know I love all colours but I have a thing for yellow dresses (I'm currently on three) – you look so beautiful it almost makes me want to cry! Dare I say this is your most gorgeous outfit ever? Your hair colour just says "add black accessories" and my word it looks so gorgeous.

I think I need to stop this comment because I'm starting to sound creepy. =zipped it= Now off for a lie down to recover.

This dress is amazing! I think the tan details help to tone down the yellow. Love it with these black and white shoes!

Wow, you look gorgeous in this yellow dress! Yellow is hard for me to wear, but it's perfect with your coloring! I love yellow though, and might just have to give in and get some bright yellow shoes or something!

That dress is beautiful and looks lovely on you. I confess, I am one of those women who is a bit afraid of yellow, so this look is really impressive to me!

I have a colour business. In my experience most women I've worked with have avoided yellow as they fear it will be too bright for them. I also have met many blondes that wouldn't wear it as it is too similar to their colour of hair. I have found that we all suit yellow but finding the correct depth or clarity to be the tricky part. In a nutshell, you either suit bright colours or soft muted ones. You can take a strong colour, hence the yellow in your dress. I love it, especially at this time of year!

I love this dress on you. I'm not great at wearing yellow, I think my hair colour just doesn't suit it at all. If it was darker I might brave it. It's a pity though because I do really love it, hopefully one day I can find a yellow dress that suits me!

You look absolutely stunning in yellow! It contrasts so well with your hair and necklace :] I am a major fan of yellow, however, yellow doesn't always look so great on me. It is sort of funny because my new favorite dress is yellow and I am posting about it tomorrow on the blog. I really just think it depends on the shade and how you style it – and you styled that dress beautifully :]

You really suit yellow, I love it but need to find a shade to suit me!

Okay, I am like blown away by this dress! I absolutely love the shade on you (it just goes perfectly with your brown hair) and the fit is just amazing. Don't mind me as I run out to go and recreate this look. Love it!

This shade of yellow looks amazing with your raven hair! Lovely, and your black accessories match your hair too! I haven't found the right shade of yellow for me yet – I've got pink toned skin and Auburn hair so it's a tricky match to make, without making me look like I'm ill. I'm keepin' on lookin'!
