Let Me Introduce you to Ann (&Passion4Fashion LinkUp)

Today i have the absolute pleasure of making a wonderful introduction to y’all.

Everybody, this is Ann of Tarnished Royalty

(R) Can you tell us where your corner or the web is and what its about?

(Ann) My website Tarnished Royalty is where I set up shop to sell the jewelry I design and to blog about fashion and design. I used to sell antiques and during that time I developed an appreciation for the intricate details in old pieces of hardware, lace, jewelry, architecture, etc. When it was time for a career change, I turned my focus to creating my own jewelry designs using those types of treasures in new and unique ways. I continue to learn so much with each piece I create and try to remain true to my own style. My pieces are nothing if not original.

(R)How long have you been blogging?

(Ann)I have been blogging with my current blog for just exactly one year. So, happy bloggiversary to me!

(R)Can you tell me more about your Drop it or Swap it campaign and link up?

(Ann)This is my newest venture in blogging  and what I am most excited to share with you. It’s a brand new link up party with a twist! I am a firm believer in link up parties. I join in on several weekly link ups and have gotten to know so many lovely ladies that way. And I will continue to do so!  The concept of my party is to link up with a picture of something you used to love but want to get rid of. And who doesn’t love to eyeball another girl’s stuff? Especially when she’s offering it for the taking? It can be clothing, accessories, craft supplies, books, anything really that you don’t mind mailing. It can have its own dedicated post or be tagged onto the end of another post. Then when you link up, you’ll get a chance to shop around at the other links until you spy something that you would like to swap for. I love to rotate clothing in and out of my closet. If you see me wearing an item of clothing in an OOTD post that you like, chances are good that it will eventually end up at the swap! More info can be found HERE

(R)What inspired you to set ‘Drop it or Swap it’ up (which FYI i think its amazing!)

(Ann)So glad you asked! When I decided to host my own party, I knew that I wanted it to be a little bit different. So I hatched my plan to have a link up where swapping items is part of the fun as well as the draw. I believe in this idea so much and am committed to seeing it through to fruition. I know it will take time to catch on, but once it does I believe it will be a great source of fun and exposure for bloggers, shop owners and readers. In order to explain how my concept is different and show you why you should consider participating, the little marketing person in me was compelled to put this chart together to spell it out clearly. But I am in no way down playing the value in other link ups!

And now, in case you’re still not convinced to join in, it’s time for a shameless bribe.

The first 10 bloggers to email me at;

saying they plan to join in the swap, and then link up for 4 weeks (in a row or not) will ALL
receive their choice of:

A pair of earrings in one of these styles

1/2 hour of Graphic Design Services > Button design, small ad design, etc.

A daily shout out for your blog or shop on my Facebook, Pinterest, Google + and Twitter accounts for one week

I’ll return the favor and become a regular at your link up

I’ll try to maintain a sense of dignity now and stop short of begging…long pause…oh what the heck, please, please, OH PLEASE give the swap a try and join in!

(R) hahaha Ann this all sounds amazing, i know i will be heading on over ASAP!!

(R)Where do you take inspiration from?

From so many places really. Nature, other blogs, listening to good music. Shopping / browsing opens my mind and sparks my imagination like crazy. But oddly, most of my best ideas come when I’m taking a soak in a bubble bath. I usually have to have a pen and paper handy to write things down so I don’t forget them.

(R)And finally Ann, if we were to meet in real life what would we do?

(Ann) We would start the day by fuelling up with a hearty brunch on the patio.

Next we would hit all my favorite haunts, mostly thrift shops but we could throw in some retail as well, time permitting. At the end of the day we would enjoy some spa time getting pedis for our hard working (shopping) feet and swap stories about our favorite finds of the day.

Roasted tomato soufflé or spinach omelet, your choice; fresh fruit parfait; and of course coffee or tea. I couldn’t pass up a chance for a photo shoot with the lovely Rachel, so when we finished eating we would re-apply our lipstick and get our pose on.

(R) Ann that all sounds absolutely amazing, next plane for me please!

Thank you so much for introducing me and everyone at RTH to Drop it or Swap it, i can’t wait to get involved.

What a great idea this is!! I was just thinking recently about different kinds of linkups, and I think this could really work. I just popped over to Ann's blog and said that I'll have to sort out my drawers to find something to swap. Alas, last week I literally took a SACK of clothes, accessories and shoes to the charity shop.
