Fading Light and Passion For Fashion Linkup!!

SO these dark evenings make taking photos tricky when your photographer is at work till 6pm huh!
And the thing is its only going to get worse/harder when the clocks go back for us here in the UK saying good bye to british summer time and hello to long dark nights. I can’t moan, i do love this time of year, the crisp fresh mornings, the first frost, the wonderful colours, it really is the stuff of poetry isn’t it! The persistent rain and gale force winds however are not my favourite!

I am all about buying great block colours with lots of remixing potential lately, i’m slowly building a collection of pieces i love that are really versatile, like these boots and this new Oxblood colour dress. It makes dressing so much fun having a wardrobe thats full of remixing potential.

 Oxblood (horrible name) dress: Asos

Boots: *Lotus

Scarf, belt, bag: New Look

This dress is gorgeous on you! I think this is such a perfect fall look. I love the way your boots look with this dress too. And your scarf is awesome too.
This post just reminded me that the clocks will be turning back soon. Guess I'll have to take pictures earlier in the day!

The rich colour of the dress and the printed scarf look great together. The skinny belt completes the look. And this dress does seem to be quite remix-able!

I love that dress (but yeah, "oxblood" is such a stupid name). You paired it perfectly with the scarf and boots too!

So pretty!! I really like the full skirt of this dress! And shorter days make photography in winter extremely difficult!

There is a lot more planning that goes into blog photos once the days get shorter! I love these with the sun flares behind you. Pretty dress!

Love your scarf and your dress! The light in these pictures looks lovely but I do know what you mean about it getting dark so much earlier now!

I know what you mean about finding it harder to get good light for outfit shots — I'm running into similar problems up here in the Pacific NW. But sometimes the fading light makes for lovely, atmospheric shots, like yours here! Very nice red-and-black color combo šŸ™‚

Buying block colour can really open up your options. It's strange because I'm always attracted to quirky prints and patterns, but buying some basics in block colours can make you feel like you have so much more. Ah, I'm resigned to weekends for photographs…I took summer for granted! Anyhow, looking lovely as always xx

perfect ensemble as always Rachel! I miss winter and long dark nights now that I live in Hawaii. I never thought I would miss it. And I keep buying "oxblood" colored clothing, but have a hard time trying to style it to fit into the tropical world I live in right now…silly name, but pretty color! take care!

You look gorgeous in that Burgundy Dress. Is it a Knit? I love the Scarf & cross-body with it. Great styling. The Boots are awesome, also.

My pleasure linking up with you & Lena. Check out what I linked up. =)

The light certainly makes for beautiful photos. It is one of the things I am grateful for , for our own inverse clock change – getting out of the kitchen for a photo shoot every now and again!! Thanks so much for hosting again xxx

I don't think i'll ever be able to call that color oxblood… what happened to burgundy? that's the name i always thought it was called, i'll have to hear where the oxblood word came from anyway but that's besides the point. you look gorgeous!! regardless of the name, it's a great color on you. and i love the printed scarf w/ the boots and dress. it's getting so dark early here too, but i did have a reality check last year when we visited Seattle over Thanksgiving and it was dark at 4:30, not too too bad over in sunny Phoenix : ).
