The MAGIC Dress ( & Passion For Fashion LINKUP!!)

F&F clothing Recently contacted me to ask if i would like to experience the wonder that is their new Magic Dress i said heck yes missy, let me see for myself if these are actually magic dresses.

You see i am alll about the shapewear when im getting dressed up for those special occasions. Before childbirth i had a seriously flat stomach, i was proud of it and never had to bother with support in the tummy department. But then Neo came and my tummy exploded to grand proportions. 3 years later and a wonderful healthy diet i now weigh less than what i did before him…however, i can not shift my mum-tum as i call it. I was not one of those women who’s body naturally just pinged back to the same slim shape it was prior to bambino. My tummy will never be the same again (sob), its just permanently bulgy and even though it has shrunk, it is still there and not flat or smooth at all, unless i were to do a gazillion sit ups a day, and lets face it i’m not gunna, i will never have the dream flat stomach again.

So supportive shapewear. I am all for it.

These Dresses have a fine support layer, kinda like a supportive petticoat, attached and underneath the actual dress. It supports, it smooths, it de-bulks. It works real well.  Having had a lot of personal experience with many a hold-u-in/shape-u type pants this for me was far more comfy.  It didnt squeeze me within an inch of my life but felt extremely supportive. It has a grip seam at thigh level which is very comfy and holds it securely in place and stops it rising. It smooths all the way down, leaving a more svelte appearance that i could not have been happier with, not only did it smooth the tummy area it worked the bum and thighs too (win win for a pear shape girl like me!)

They have a few smart colours that would look great as office wear and would be comfy enough to wear all day. I went for this animal blue and black print and it had a great little tie detail on the waist too that added to the cinched in waist appearance that you want from a fitted dress. I would totally accessorize this dress for a wedding, or a smart occasion or even office wear for a meeting! It worked that well for me!

That is such a fantastic dress, you look STUNNING x

  3. August 30, 2013 / 6:41 am

This dress looks amazing on you! It's incredibly flattering and such a fun print too. I really like the tie detail at the waist. Those red heels look perfect with it too.

You look so sophisticated in this! I've never had a flat stomach. It's always been my problem area and its only going to get worse now I'm pregnant! I would be very tempted to try something like this after the birth. X

  5. August 30, 2013 / 10:23 am

thank you for the comment. This dress is so flattering, and the red shoes look perfect with it. I'm heading to tescos tonight, it would be rude not to check out the clothes department. x

Rachel, you look an absolute honey in that dress – so elegant and sophisticated!! I'm sure the dress doesn't have to work THAT hard to give you such a fabulous figure, but whatever it's doing, it's doing it right… the fact that you're so happy with it is the main thing!! It's a new one on me (dresses that hold you in), I of course know about swimwear and underwear and jeans that do all that… Well done Tesco.

Thanks for hosting the link up party as always my little lammie :))

    Catherine x

That really does look so flattering on you! And I can see how it would be very versatile, too.

What a beautiful dress it is. And you rock it. Love the necklace and the shoes are to die for. I love the little cut out at the sides. Makes those shoes kinda special. Gorgeous.

  9. August 30, 2013 / 2:06 pm

Glad to find you more beautiful than ever, dear Rachel.

  10. August 30, 2013 / 2:28 pm

Fabulous dress, and awesome that it shapes! Maybe I can let my Spanx have a rest?

  11. August 30, 2013 / 3:06 pm

That dress is adorbs! I really like the style, color, and pattern. That it has shapewear is a bonus. I own a few shaping pieces but don't wear them because of the comfort factor. I always feel like they can either be seen through my clothes or they cut off circulation in vital parts. *sigh*

  12. August 30, 2013 / 4:11 pm

Wow! That's a good way to do shapewear. I love the idea of shapewear but I hate trying to wriggle into it. Ironically I love the idea of corsets though. Thanks so much for hosting once again!!

  13. August 30, 2013 / 6:18 pm

    your dress is gorgeous Rachel!

  14. August 30, 2013 / 7:42 pm

You look amazing in the dress! I have the same problem as you – weigh less than I did before I had Auds but can't shift the tummy:( will definitely take a look at this range! x

  15. August 30, 2013 / 9:27 pm

Rachel, you look stunning! Blue is a great color on you. I wear Spanx on the regular under my dresses, but I will have to try one of these. I really like the wrap style – such a universal flatterer. I also love that spiked collar. Your edgy outfits lately have been so fun to watch!

  16. August 30, 2013 / 10:12 pm

I'm intrigued by this dress and may I add, you look gorgeous! I really don't suit that shape of dress, because I have a small frame but rounded tummy and bum (pear shape) but I'd try one on!x

  17. August 31, 2013 / 6:26 pm

God, Rachel, you look f*cking amazing. Props on losing so much weight! I am floored by just how beautiful you are!! And I love the new haircut, too!
p.s. – Pear shaped?!? What pear shape? You look more like a slim & sexy noodle too me 🙂

  18. August 31, 2013 / 6:28 pm

Btw, I just clicked on the link to that dress and it looks just SO much better on you than on the model! Honestly! I wouldn't have even thought it could look so good if I had only seen in on her, but seeing it on you makes me want to run out and buy it right now!!

  19. August 31, 2013 / 6:57 pm

the dress looks wonderful on you! not to mention that you're looking very pretty;-) xx

  20. September 1, 2013 / 6:23 pm

Love the dress and those red heels are perfect with it!

  21. September 4, 2013 / 2:59 pm

This dress is indeed magical! The print is fabulous, and it hides the fact that there's shaping built into the dress. And your styling with the bold lip and red shoes? Swoon!

  22. September 4, 2013 / 3:56 pm

Thanks Rachel, this is a great idea for a link-up!! and you look absolutely amazing to me! just gorgeous in this dress and all of your outfits above as well, although i can understand a bit feeling that way. a friend of mine has 2 little ones and was struggling w/ that her tummy also would never be the same. but i like to say eh, many of us will be like that eventually & it's worth it : )
