Crazy Horses

I bought this wonderful shirt dress just after Christmas and this is actually the first time i have worn it. I think i was waiting for a nice occasion, like a meal with hubby or out for drinks or something but nothing came up and it was starring at me longingly just wanting to be worn, so i happily obliged and put it on for its maiden outing.

AND i just love it, the fit was just perfect and i absolutely loved how it felt on.  The funky horse print is so eye catching and i have nothing like this in my wardrobe so it was definitely a good purchase. I actually cyber stalked this dress for weeks online and my size went pretty quickly, but when flicking back to Dorothy Perkins one of my size was available, so into the little online shopping cart it went.

It was a fate i tells ya!

Even hubby mentioned how lovely the dress was (a rarity in itself, maybe he has a secret penchant for horseys)

And Neo kept repeatedly shouting at me “HORSEY’S, MUMMY, HORSESY’S) at the top of his voice (the boy has one volume right now, LOUD…:-/ someone please tell me these kids have a volume switch somewhere??) then proceeded to neigh and canter about on all fours like a horse.

So yes, an all round good response to my crazy horses dress. When i say crazy horses what i should actually say is crazy colourful horses. Actual crazy horses probably wouldn’t look so good…..but i digress.

Please do excuse the tired eyes. I think the immense pressure/stress of the past few weeks is taking its toll on this ladies peepers, plus these were taken at 4.30pm, the time when little to no make-up is left and i’m already dreaming of hitting the sack to throw some zee’s. Zzzzzz….

That’s the great thing about blogs, it literally is keeping it real(which sounds so not cool in my English accent by the way) Bags and all, no air-burshing just real life, wrinkles and grey hairs the lot. I much prefer blogging land to magazine glossy, is-any-of-it-actually-real-land.

You girls are the best inspiration.

Every day i read blogs and feel inspired by real women.

You ladies keep me going….

And so do pretty horse print dresses 🙂

Lovely dress… I've seen it on DP & wasn't sure how I would style it… but it looks gorgeous on you! I prefer blog style to magazine style any day! I agree that it's more real & inspiring!

What a pretty outfit! This dress is well up my street being a horse rider!

  5. March 5, 2013 / 5:10 pm

I love that the horses are such fun color! Even though I have always been a bit timid around horses since a scary riding experience when I was little, I do love them as a print! I sold a horse print blouse in my shop last year and missed it the second I shipped it off to Australia!
Hope you're having a wonderful day!

The print on that dress is just wonderful! x

  7. March 5, 2013 / 6:27 pm

It looks like a unicorn print from afar 🙂 which would be WONDERFUL, but colorful horses are really cool anyways, hehe. Apart from the print the fit is absolutely perfect, you look amazing <3
And about being inspired by real ladies, not glossy unrealistic top models: I couldn't agree more.

Love that print, and what great colors! The hat and the shoes are the perfect styling for this dress — well done!
These days, I've been inspired by bold vintage looks — I'm having a major crush on all my mom's old clothes from the 70s.

That's the perfect dress, love the print + what gorgeous hues!! And seeing your bangs is giving me major hair envy. I'm SO close to chopping mine again. 😉

  11. March 5, 2013 / 9:30 pm

I love that dress, Rachel! I almost got myself a horse blouse, but I resisted! I kind of wish I hadn't now though. I have to admit, "HORSEYS, MUMMY, HORSEYS!" sounds pretty cute in my head, even if it is a bit loud 😉

And I prefer the blogging world to magazines and other forms of pop culture, real people and their real lives make me so much more appreciative of everything! You look beautiful, sleepy and all, Rachel!

I normally don't like the animal prints, but this dress is fabulous! You accessorized it beautifully, too!

  13. March 6, 2013 / 7:39 am

You do Rachel! I definitely find my inspiration in blog land but also people watching all around the city. I've taken to keeping a notebook in my handbag especially for noting outfit ideas (sad I know). xo

  14. March 6, 2013 / 8:17 am

Oh you are cute! Especially in that third shot. Horses are pretty damn cool, I think I need more horses in my life!

  15. March 6, 2013 / 10:37 am

I definitely find inspiration from other blogs rather than magazines these days. I love seeing other peoples every day style and it always gives me ideas about how to put together things that I already have in my wardrobe. I absolutely LOVE this dress. I love the whole outfit in fact you look amazing as ever 🙂
