Biker Jacket Pt 2: Girly Dress

You guys responded so amazingly to Part 1 last week, that i couldn’t wait to share the next :

Part Two: Biker Jacket meets Girlie Dress

So i’ve had this pretty little butterfly dress since well before Christmas (possibly November:-/) and it just hung there for a long time a bit lonely and a bit sad. When the biker jacket arrived, i draped it over the same coat hanger as the dress and thenceforth an outfit was born. So a simple lack of coat hangers can sometimes be a blessing….

I love how a girlie dress can be given that edgier look with a Biker jacket, its whimiscal print is toned down with leather and studs and zips and boots. I have no problem with super girly (as you probably already know!) But i do like to dabble with other styles and this one hits the nail on the head for me, i get my hit of pretty dresses and adds a different flavour to my normal style.

Well we have had a very quiet and chilled weekend, which was just what was needed after an extremely stressful week. There’s been lots of reading, sitting around doing nothing and eating.. blissful i tell ya!
I’m off to go do some more reading I’ve just finished Marian Keyes latest (Mystery of Mercy Close) and  just loaded up on the old kindle Dawn French’s latest (Oh Dear Sylvia) and i’m already intrigued and don’t want to put it down..

Biker Jacket c/o: Next

Dress: New Look

Boots: Very (old)

Scarf: Dorothy Perkins (old)

Clutch: Tesco (V.Old)

Tights:

Teal pair underneath Black patterned pair.. because one pair just isn’t enough lately!

Have you dabbled with Girlie meets Biker Jacket?

I’d love to see if you have

Love the outfit. I am not much of a girly girl so I love when dresses are styled a bit edgier.

I love wearing my biker jacket over pretty dresses, I'm not quite a dress kinda girl, but a jacket 'beefs' them up a little 🙂 xx

Love this outfit – this is definitely more me as I find maxis hard to walk in. Love the quirky combination of clashing prints and textures on the tights, dress and scarf. x

I got too curvy (ahem) for my biker jacket, so I really need to replace it. I do love the edgy look a leather can give to feminine frocks though.

Ah, a leather biker is my go to item of clothing! I love pretty, girly dresses…but I always like them to have an edge! Perfect! Can't beat red lipstick and a biker jacket! Sweet, but tough! Donna xx

I do that thing of draping one item of clothing on the same hanger as another and accidentally creating an outfit. Happy accident!! I'm usually wearing 3 pairs of tights at the moment.. cold! xx

I love your whole outfit, from the pink scarf to the layered teal tights! Oh, and the boots, too! I used to have a biker jacket that I did wear with a skirt a few times. I like the look with your dress – it's very cool.

This has become a modern classic, and you did it well. One of my favorite go-to looks, one I particularly like with longer dresses as well!

Hey! I recently doubled up tights too…an opaque under a lacy… mostly to keep warm! I love the color play on your tights. In fact, your entire outfit is cool. Love the warm textured fun look of your scarf. And hooray for clothes hanger serendipity! Lynaea @ EverydayBloom.com
