Glitter and Lace

It has been a lovely few days  and we are only just approaching mid week, i hope the rest of the week continues this way. but i guess not every week starts with your 28th birthday and lots of cake 🙂  I spent Monday with my lovely family and best friend and drank lots of Toffee-nut lattes and ate way to much cake. Then in true Rachel form i fell down the stairs! Yep! I am possibly the clumsiest person you ever did meet (unfortunately i seem to be passing that legacy on to my son, poor blighter!) and after the most relaxing bath that hubs had drawn for me where i had sat and read my magazine for a good hour i must have been too chilled as when i got out i slipped down the majority of my stairs thankfully only bruising my elbow, back and arse! Every time i sit down my left bum cheek is soo painful, haha! oh dear. Seriously, what a present to myself on my birthday!

In the olden days (over 6 years ago) when Paul and i first started our business together, we used to go everywhere together, I’d often sit in the car and go on deliveries with him and we’d chat and what not. As roles developed and things changed i spent less time on the road with him and more time in the office and lately even in a new job! So today when we went out on a few business-y errands it was really nice to be just like we were 6 years ago. We stopped in on our way back home when we saw this incredible view. It was so freezing and there was even a very fine dusting of snow, it made me think i may be wearing a lot more knitwear  and big coats and retire some of the dresses for a little while haha!

I have seen these glitter type boots everywhere at the moment, they are in the magazines and all over the blogosphere. Normally i don’t succumb to glittery anything’s as I’m not really a sparkly glittery type of  gal. But that all changed when i tried them on in New Look recently and they fitted like a glove and had 50% off! Making them an absolute bargain at £12.49!!  Suddenly all I could think of was the endless possibilities of outfits with these booties! It was love at first boot 😉 And with Christmas coming, a bit of sparkle seems appropriate in my eyes!

My lovely sister gave me this beautiful dress for my birthday! She’s so good. What’s bizarre is that I’ve actually been on the look out for a nice cream lacy dress for weeks, without telling her either. She just so happened to think I’d like it, which of course i do! Its the loveliest! And has sleeves… bonus!!

So ladies after partying real hard (ha!) i am off for a hard days work tomorrow and the next day so i will see you all in a few!

Ok, even though you're obviously freezing your bruised bum off, you are impossibly beautiful my dear, lovely friend. Your sister did a fine job picking out that dress – it is so very you.

And speaking of dresses, I popped over for a quick visit the other day and thought we might have had the same one – thanks for confirming. Not really surprising, though, as we are pretty much 2 versions of the same person living on different continents haha)

Now can we talk about your boots!? So jealous!! They are super duper cute and I didn't think I ever wanted to own a pair until I saw them on your little tootsies. They are scrumptious!

<3 Happy happy birthday, my darling!!! <3

Happy birthday Rachel! Looking great as usual! Is it wrong that the socks totally make this outfit work? Maybe it's just me! I see a crafty DIY coming up to make glutter boots 😉 x

Happy belated birthday to you!! Sorry that you fell down the stairs though lol, I am just the same, the amount of times I have randomly injured myself is ridiculous.

I loooovee those little booties, I saw them in New Look too and was debating them but wasn't sure how to wear them. Having seen them on you I am going to go buy them online today as they look good with casual wear (I was worried I would only be able to wear them with dressed up outfits) so that is my purchase of the day sorted lol.

The dress is beautiful, it must be the sister bond that passed the vibes on about the dress. I sometimes have dreams about something happening to my sister and then it happens to her, spooky.

Hope you are having a good Saturday

Wow! Those boots were an epic bargain! I've been loving those sparkly boots everyone has lately, but I haven't seen a cheap enough pair in real life. Oh well.
Happy belated birthday! I hope your bruises from your fall feel better soon!
