The last Passion 4 Fashion Linkup of 2016 (and a non outfit from me)

I had every intention of taking multiple outfit photos this past week, what with opportunities to dress up and also having the husband around to take photos, it seemed the ideal opportunity.
But when it came down to it, all i wanted to do was chill with my loved ones, just sit and not worry about what i was wearing and if i could get photos, to just relax and wear the same thing on repeat and also sloth about in my joggers or pj's.
And that's exactly what i did.
So should i be bringing you a nice outfit post today? Or a 2016 recap? Yes i probably should.
But instead i took the time out.. and d'you know what, I bloody well enjoyed it too.
So here's the only outfit pic i took all week, which i will be completely honest and say i changed out of the skinny jeans as soon as i had completed my 'out of house tasks' (i.e went to get food shopping)
Not even a full length shot, just a dirty mirror selfie.. it was all i could seem to manage it would seem.
But with rest comes renewed vigour, and so i am looking forward to a new year and getting back in to the swing of things.

So it just leaves me to wish you all a Very, Very Happy New Year. Here's to a happy, healthy, prosperous and down right marvellous 2017 to one and all!

Feel free to link up any fashion posts from the last year below. I am in much need of inspiration so will take some time to come view as many links as possible over the coming week!

Star print Dress And A Very Merry Christmas to all (& #Passion4Fashion Linkup)

Happy Chirtsmas folks. Can you believe the big day is almost upon us. The day for giving, feasting and being with loved ones. For me Christmas is all about having spending some quality time with my loved ones after having such a busy year, its so wonderful to come together for uninterrupted happy moments.
So this dress is like the best thing i've bought in such a long time. I got it for my Winter Capsule in the black friday sale and I've pretty much worn it to every and any event. I have always lvoed a good star print, there's just something so magical about it, which makes it simply perfect for the festive season.. and quite frankly beyond, because lets face it, a bit of magic in our lives can only be a good thing.
So me and my magic dress have had many an outing, and I've decided will indeed be my christmas day dress. But for C-day I'll wear it with some black thick tights, a red coat and some knee high boots.
I love the fit and flare flattering style of this dress and the reverse coloured white lining giving it such a beautiful detail to the hem.
It is definitely one of those dresses that will make you want to twirl and twirl.
I would definitely say keep an eye out over the Christmas period as Warehouse do tend to have terrific sales and I completely recommend this dress wholeheartedly.

Now I shall Bid you a Very Merry Christmas. I hope it is filled with happiness and love.
Passion 4 Fashion will continue as normal, so I shall see you here again next week on December 30th for the last one of the year!

Beauty Inside & Out: My Current Beauty & Health Products

I wanted to share my new beauty regime after a a whole hellish few months of really bad skin. I'm finally (thankfully!!) coming out the other side of it, having had worse spots then i've ever had in my entire life, then a bout of acute dry skin that made me look like a flaky pastry face. I joke but honestly it was really getting me done. I've never had great skin anyway, what with a lot of uneven skin tone, large pores and redness, but at least it was fairly blemish free, and usually a good foundation would sort my face base out and i could look semi presentable. But my face got so bad that i couldn't even wear foundation without it literally crumbling off my face. My spots were big and red and my face was just generally really angry at me. I'd been on a bit of a new beauty binge and had tried so many new products since becoming Vegan that i couldn't actually pinpoint what was not agreeing with my skin. Plus there is the cold weather winter + central heating + the generally tired factor to deal with.

So i stripped back all my beauty products and went back to basics inside and out.

I found my old faithful Liz Earle Hot Cloth Cleanse and Polish and decided not to use any other facial cleansing products. I also added in their instant boost skin tonic which a sheer light delight on the skin and so refreshing.

I've been using these both morning and night and within a week I noticed my skin was less red and angry. Less new spots were popping up and the flaky skin(attractive i know, but truthful) was starting to dissipate.

The next thing I added in was the Forever Living Propolis Creme* which i was introduced to by the lovely Michelle on Instagram. She sent an array of samples to trial and this was the one that blew me away. I applied it all over, and when my skin was cracking and flaky, I was applying it 3 times a day. Within 2 days it felt my skin had had a giant injection of moisture. When i smiled it no longer felt tight or flaky.
With the Liz Earle products and the Forever living creme I seem to have gotten back to a fairly normal skin consistency.

I also started to address my health. Winter always leaves me feeling lethargic, but I have also felt my emotional levels have been on somewhat of a roller-coaster. Hormones and all those lovely lady things we have to deal with has left me feeling pretty depleted on all fronts.
Taking vitamins as well as eating a healthy rounded diet is really important to me. I know my body well, as we all do, and if somethings a little off, its not long for me to realise and then react accordingly.

For the past month I started taking vitamins to help bring all my levels back up to a normal level.
Bioconcepts Evening primrose Oil,Vegan Multi Vitamin, B12 & Vitamin D
With this cocktail of vitamins** I have found my moods stabilised, my fatigue has petered out and I'm generally more alert and find my concentration levels are far better... In the past 2 days I have written 5 blog posts when i was struggling to write one previously.

Finally, i've been using Tea Tree Oil on my piercings (did i mention I've had two in the past 4 months and planning another over the Christmas period? Did you want to know more on that.. a post on piercings possibly?) as I did find one was getting painful and a little infected. It was really getting me down as i felt like my body was rejecting it and yet i really wanted the piercing.
So i started bathing it twice a day. Tea tree is a remarkable natural anti bacterial. My body reacts so well to this and has helped indefinitely, along with bathing the area in salt water with cotton buds.

All in all I'm feeling exceptionally better having just made these simple changes to my daily routine.
Its good to feel happy inside and out, right?

What beauty regime are you using this winter and do you take any vitamins?

* Worth noting this product is not vegan but is cruelty free & GF
** I'm no doctor.. obvs.. but seek advice on vitamins from a health profesh if you can. I had advice from my nutritionist when i had my Intolerance test.

Bedroom Makeover Project

Back in November I decided to single handedly take on the task of decorating my bedroom. With Salvatore working away so much I put my girl power pants on and with some sheer bloody determination created a relaxing minimal bedroom for us... Well its a work in progress, but piece by piece I'm creating a retreat. A room where we can sit and have peace when the rest of our teeny tiny house is full of crazy kids.

With Pintrest as my guide and a loose colour scheme in mind I set to it

I decided on dusky pinks, greys, white and silver with a little bit of black as a contrast just spotted here and there as I had a lot of silver items already, so worked that in with a new clean colour palette.

The main focus, after painting the whole room white, was the bedding. I LOVE to sleep. So for me comfy snuggly bedding was of the utmost importance.
I chose grey jersey bedding which is just the cosiest and softest bedding I've ever slept on. I then mixed in some textures with the dusky pink satin throw, and i had the faux fur throw for my birthday. All combined they make one hell of a comfy bed.

Cushions from various but mostly H&M in store
Prints: Ikea

Work in Progress

As I mentioned November probably isn't the best month to start a decorating project when Christmas is just around the corner and funds need to be applied elsewhere (kids.. eye roll..)
So its is definitely a work still in progress, but the breather has allowed me to live in it a few weeks whilst i decided what pieces I want to add next.

First up I know I want a beautiful, minimal chair. And investment piece. An item that I will hopefully have till the end of my days and pass on to my children.
I adore the idea of an easy chair like the black one above from Skandium, their table lamps are also beyond beautiful, which is another item I would like to add.

Prints.
I want to add more artwork to my plain walls. I have a couple of pieces already, which each morning I'm so happy to see. But I definitely think more would work. Adding some prints and great frames are next on my list. (I already have 5 on my list from that link). I have a few shelves/ledges to add on to our plain walls, which will then mount our prints perfectly. Then some added lights in the form of fantastic fairy lights.

A feature Mirror
To go black frame or silver.. that is the question?

Plants
I'm obsessed with indoor hardy plants. I have 7 in our living room, and adding more regularly. They add colour and life to a room and are fantastic mood enhancers (apparently). Some plants will be migrating to my bedroom to accompany my art and obsession with throws.

I'm now excited to continue with my little haven of peace come the New Year and continue adding the finishing touches to our room.

Have you taken on any decorating projects lately? or do you have plans to in the new year?

The Night Before Christmas and Nice Pyjamas Are a Must

The tradition in our house is brand spanking new Pj's on Christmas eve for the whole family. Its just got to be.
There's nothing like sinking in to bed in a pair of box fresh pj's.
Personally I am a Pyjama lover, i know some people love nighties, some prefer shorts and vest tops. But i am always cold so full on (preferably brushed cotton) pjs are it for me. Not even gunna pretend and say i go for the schexy lady silky, lacey option.. nope (i know my husband is just so lucky;) Its cute and cuddly all round for me.
Plus on Christmas morning when you're husbands taking photos and videos of the kids opening their presents and you just so happen to be in the background of said video/photo's you wanna be in nice pyjamas (also pajamas or pyjamas? I didn't even know you could spell this both ways?!)

Let's take a look at some of my favourite options

The second in (which is actually a playing cards set) are my absolute favourite and I'm thinking they shall be mine... But we have some festive options, with a bit of nordic and red and also some foxes.. Gorgeous sets all round from PJ Salvage.

 Sleepy Jones

Sleepy Jones bringing some festive cheer without the cheesiness. stripes or tartan..Whats your preference? For me tartan/plaid this time of year is mandatory!

 Emerson Road

Stars again compulsory and we have some loooveeely options from Emerson road. The first star set looks wonderfully cosy and possibly necessary to my life. Plus they're not overtly christmassy meaning these can be worn all year.

 Asos

Ok so when i said silky pj's i am not.. i think i could convert if they looked this good and felt as comfy.
The middle pair are celestial stars and ever so pretty! And then some festive fun also with the Red Monki pair.

And those my friends, are my night before Christmas options.. and this is me in my current favourite brushed cotton, soft as clouds pair.

So Christmas pj's.. do you have any?

Dressing for Winter with Buffalo Plaid & Sorel Boots (& #Passion4Fashion Linkup)

A few posts ago i mentioned that come winter I'm a complete wimp when it comes to cold temperatures. So can you imagine how happy i am in this snuggly outfit. Its so cosy, a bit festive and i just generally want to live in it.
For years I've searched for the perfect Buffalo plaid piece but to no avail, well until this winter and my perfect fit and style shirt practically fell in to my lap.
I absolutely love wearing it, and within the week I'd worn it 3 times over, each slightly differently styled (with black jeans and then with a black faux leather skirt and back to with my trusty Levi's)
The brushed cotton fabric feels so warm and cosy for this time of year, but I also love that even though its warm, i still can dress it to make it look like I'm not hibernating for the winter. To me it brings a bit of an edgy vibe to an outfit, which i do lean towards come winter (boho in summer, rock-edgy in winter.. I use both those terms loosely of course, as we all know I have an ever changing sense of style direction)
So with my buffalo check/plaid shirt I've been pairing it with my new favourite faux Sherling coat which was a gift from my parentals. My dad actually chose it, which makes me love it all the more.

And then finished off with my Sorel boots.. These have become a complete winter staple. They're so much more comfortable and warmer than wellies, and yet are fully waterproof too. A total worthy investment
