What to wear for a rainy summer

So summer so far feels like a few fleeting days of sun followed by endless amounts of rain. Drizzle, full on showers and thunderstorms. Fab. :(
I have lots of lovely summer dresses that are just taunting me, and stupidly i brought down my summer shorts and beach wear from storage last week. Ha, what a fool. I can't actually see them getting any wear anytime soon.
Which got me to thinking of what i could actually wear with this temperamental British weather.
Its all about the practical outfits right now.

First up and very importantly
The coat
I have the Seasalt Seafolly in Yellow, it's 2 and a half years old and going strong, but red is a favourite of mine and would make a lovely update. Such a great splash of colour on an otherwise very dull grey day. My Seasalt jacket is my wet weather essential.

But with the jacket in place, what to wear with the rest of it? Well...

Wet weather wears

For me its all about the simple easy smart-casual.
I'm thinking striped tees or this one with the fabulous sleeves for a snazzy sharp look. When you remove that rain coat, BAM blingy sleeves.. that's pretty cool if you ask me!
Then some boyfriend jeans so no dragging hem lines in puddles causing soggy legs, comfy boots to protect my tootsies from the rain and a great bag and umbrella.
Since my navy Radley bag i am obsessed with their bags. Such great quality, such great value. So with some spare pennies in my pocket i got to searching. I checked out the discount site Frugaa( read more ) and found  Radley London.
It had to be a cross body bag, freeing up your hands in rainy weather for the holding of your (fabulous) umbrella, 'cause lets face it in weather like this it has to be a nice brolly! So This beauty of a bag and umbrella are both Radley with the added bonus of sales+ discount codes. Would be rude not to, right?

So what d'you think? Staying stylish in the showers of rain?
How do you dress for rainy summer days?

  1. Great choices, although I tend stick to my wellies when it rains. I think I definitely need to start thinking about investing in a good raincoat :)

  2. I have been living in my Seasalt jacket recently, it's the best raincoat I've ever bought! The bright yellow goes so well with clogs too, although make sure they are closed toe. Oops! xx

  3. Rainy summer clothes should be worn as simple as possible, otherwise it is quite troublesome to change.
