Sporting a Skort (&Passion4Fashion Link Up!)

The Skort.
A strange item that mixes a skirt and shorts together. Along with wanting to try a jumpsuit, skort is second on my list of 'Get out of your comfort zone, Rachel' (actual list). So i was super pleased when Debbie chose this skort as part of her F&F #frockswapuk bundle as it gave muggins here the chance to try before i buy in to the the whole skort trend.
And the verdict?
Well i guess the jury's still out on this one for me, I'm unsure.
On the pro side;
I enjoyed the practical option, being rather short i knew my modesty would be kept in tact (always a major plus point for me.. i've mentioned a few dozen times i am mrs clumsy, right?) but yet you do feel like you're wearing a mini skirt and therefore Mrs Fancypants.
On the con's;
It kinda gave me old lady arse. I carry a lot of junk in this trunk and the behind view was not to great, but i can deal with that. I don't have to see it haaha!
Husband also hated it. I don't really know why(old lady bottom possibly?), i think he felt he was being cheated by women some how, like this was a trick, just when he thought his wife had donned a cute mini skirt, she turns round and Nope! Actually big ol' shorts haha! (more fool him i say)
What do you think of Skorts? Have you tried them/it(?) out?

  1. I love this look a lot! :) I actually never would've known that's a skort until you said it.I remember wearing skorts when I was a kid but then I didn't realize they made them for adults. I would definitely consider wearing them even now especially since I always wear shorts under my skirts...just in case (I tend to be a tiny bit clumsy with these things as well).

    P.S. I love the sunlight in these photos- it looks so bright but it doesn't seem like it would be the kind of brightness that makes you squint and feel like just wearing sunglasses all the time (that's the problem I have here...I never can be without sunglasses because I squint like crazy haha) x

  2. Oh Rachel I should be in bed but had to link since I was up past midnight here. This ensemble is my type of 'simple sequins'. Perfection and Simple, both. LOVE IT! ♥, Renae

  3. Nicely done Rachel, this is a super fab look on you! Gorgeous. You are always so adventurous! I'm going shopping this morning so I shall try and get out of comfort zone a bit, I could end up in skorts by the end of the day! Thanks for hosting. P x

  5. You're so right! I should also get out of my comfort zone, because really skorts hide thighs, show off curves and butt and are cute AND comfortable! The illusion of mini, without the discomfort when you need to bend over or chase after kids. Perfect outfit!

  6. I'm not sure what I think about skorts either, I've tried a couple on but they were awful fits and they came to such a point at the front that I felt a bit like I was wearing a napkin, I also didn't think it flattered my bum much either :s

  15. Old lady arse, my arse! Ha ha! There aint nowt wrong with that butt lady! I have yet to even try them on, I carry my junk in the trunk, on the thighs, on the calves...you name it! Fearful! I've made a pact with the polka dot dress, if the skorts don't fit the polka dots are a go go!

  18. I completely disagree about the amount of trunk in your junk (and I've seen it in the flesh, hehe) - plus you have those amazeball legs that make anything short/shorts look great... but I think I'm just not 100% sold on the colour. I think when it's that short it doesn't need to be a flashy colour as well? That said, you still look flippin gorgeous - plus Mr T would like to see ya bum I'd have thought?!! A wholly inappropriate comment from start to finish. Yay me ;))

    Have a wonderful weekend, speak soon hun

  19. You have no problem wearing that look at all. So pretty! I can relate to the clumsy thing. Some days I just bump into things! I try to be graceful, but it doesn't always happen. ~Ann

  20. Hi Rachel,

    I did wear a skort before but that was the 90s and I was a young little girl then! LOL. I have to say, I am not a fan of the skort! It is very deceiving and I LOL about your old lady arse comment!

  21. I love the comeback of the skort trend again, Im looking forward to own one , one day but as of now, no luck for a perfect pair yet. You look great in it and i love the color of that red skort. I should get one too.

  22. I kinda love the skort. I never wear short skirts because I'm afraid of crotch flashing the world and my stumpy legs don't look good in shorts...this appears to be solution.
