Transitional dressing

Even though we are well and truly in to Spring, here in the UK it's still pretty darn chilly most days. And, even though i know it won't always be cold and *hopefully* the sun and warmth will grace us here, I'm finding myself still looking for quality knitwear. One of the things i realised from the spending ban was what i was missing in my current wardrobe. Transitional great quality items like this sweater from Repeat seems like the perfect piece to add to my wardrobe.

You see the way i see it, being British means your knitwear will work hard for you throughout the year, plus buying good quality will mean price per wear is low. Win win.
I could see me wearing this beuatiful sweater all year round, right now i would pair it with boyfriend jeans and bright pumps, adding a scarf and statement earrings to finish.
Summer, even when it does warm up the evening still cool off remarkably, having a sweater to throw on after a day in the sun on the beach would be perfect. Just add your cut off denim shorts, some lovely tan wedges, a straw hat and shades and your summer day to night look is complete.
Autumn would see me pair this with autumnal coloured jeans and ankle boots, whole winter would be all about the red coat and black skirt with black knee hight boots and thick tights.
1 sweater, all seasons covered. I just love simplifying things!

Do you have pieces that work all round for you?

  1. I'm definitely still living in my sweaters. They're good for the office too when people keep putting the aircon on .. grrrrr!

  2. Cardigans and flats...most of my heels have a less spring/summer feel so my flats come into play more in the spring/summer. And I don't care how hot it is...I will have a cardigan on. :) Lovely "in between" items you chose!

  3. Love this post as just bought a new jumper from Gap in the sale - you've completely justified the buy! : )

  4. Hmmm.... pieces that work year round? I can't think of one! The summers here in NC are sweltering and the winters, frigid, so there are whole sets of clothing I keep for each season.
