New Specs..

GlassesUSA.com recently contacted me to see if i would like to review a set of their specs.  So off i popped over to their website where i had a lovely look around their website at all the choices available. After being ever so indecisive and wanting to pick 6 pairs of glasses from their aptly named retro/nerdy section i settled on these:

The whole outfit was inspired by the retro cats eye shape glasses. That and I've been watching a lot of old films lately, I'm just loving the 40's and 50's right now and the lady like way the women dressed back then. Don't get me wrong i love a good jeans day but back then ladies really made an effort everyday.. i mean that's dedication! Some days i roll out of bed and throw on the cleanest least creased jeans i can find and call it an outfit, lol!  But on the days where i can find the time i just love making that little bit of extra effort and it makes me feel so glam!

 Dress & cardi: Very old
Shoes: Hush puppies
Black lined tights: River Island

The glasses arrived in 2 days all the way from America, here to the UK. I was very impressed, and for prescription glasses they came to my precise requirements. With the help of their on-line mirror (below) it makes for ordering glasses a much better experience!!

Have you ever ordered eyeglasses on line? I would highly recommend!

*i was gifted these glasses for review and they most definitely get a thumbs up from me!

  1. These look great on you! I wear my pair from them every day! The quality of mine isn't the best, but they are really cute and I love how they look on me. But they don't look nearly as good as these. That shape was made for you.

  2. No.1 you look absolutely gorgeous in this outfit and kitten glasses, lovely colour combo!
No.2, I have a favour to ask you, i.e. can you please give me information?! You are the only British person I sort of know who has bought anything from Modcloth online. I was thinking of ordering something but I wondered, a) did you get stung by custom charges and if so, roughly how much did you have to pay and how long did it take? 2) did you have to pay outrageous postage and 3) how did the sizes come up? Which size did you order? I am a size 8 top half and 10ish bottom half and I am thinking of ordering a dress? Sorry to be a pest but I would be EXCEEDINGLY grateful if you could let me know any info that might help me please?!!!
    Thank ye kindly!

    1. hi lovely,
In regards to the customs its hit and miss. I have had parcels delivered with no fee and then some which had £15 fee, which is the amount it tends to be normally, unless you're ordering lots and its heavy i guess.
I choose the cheapest UPS method which is the non tracked way and that cost me about £10 i think and took about 2-3 weeks. There is a quicker more expensive tracked option too.
And lastly, you're smaller than me (im a chunky monkey lol) so i would say a small would be fine on you. Its hard to judge the sizes as Modcloth stocks a number of different brands to be honest, so each thing i've ordered has been different. If you look in the reviews of an item people normally leave great feedback on whether something runs big/small etc.
Good luck and enjoy! i always love getting my blue box of goodies from them.
And also huge congrats on the engagement! Sorry i haven't been over in a wee while... extra work my end has caused havoc with my commenting time, but please know o have been reading your blog on my app on my phone!!

  4. Love the glasses! I have a similar chanel pair which I can no longer wear as the prescription is outdated & they are a tad tarnished! These would make an excellent replacement at a much more reasonable cost! Lovely outfit too! :)
