Orla Kiely for Uniqlo

Well hey there Ladies!
How you been?
We are are surviving on coffee and sugar rushes over here. Neo has had a cold and has been waking up 3-4 times a night for the past 5 nights.  Add a dog with serious night time issues in to that equation and that's me right now...The only word that comes to mind right now is SLEEP!
I would literally give my right arm for a full nights sleep with the added bonus of a lie in... oh the joys! If anyone would like to offer up their babysitting services that would be greeeat! He's cute, doesnt really answer back (much), and can tell you he's done a poop.  Jobs yours if you want it;)

Dress:  Orla Kiely for Uniqlo
Shoes: Seychelles: Modcloth (last year)
Tights: Tesco
Hat and belt: New Look: Last Year

When i found out that Orla Kiely was doing a collaboration range with Uniqlo, i knew i would be wanting a piece (or two, or three!) I didn't realise until the day i clicked on to Uniqlo how actually wonderful they would be. She has kept her signature 60's style and enviable trademark prints in each item.
Being a hard working mum/lady with a small budget i have never been able to purchase an actual Orla Kiely dress from her wonderful collections. Heck, in all honesty i'm too stingy and £200 is a lot of money for me to part with for 1 item. So when collaborations  like this happen, i love how it opens  up the designer doors to even the  tightest   thriftiest people. Coming in at just under £20, these dresses are AWESOME.
Being super dooper tired, you know when you just wanna throw something comfy on but still look half decent? Well this dress was just that and lovely and comfy to boot. And also an added bonus, they are some of my favourite Autumnal colours. Pretty much perfection in this tired girls eyes.
Please excuse the dust on my hat... how awful! Rachel The Hat needs to invest in a hat box!!
Ok lovely ladies, have yourselves a lovely week! xxx

  1. I succumbed to the new collection from Uniqlo but resisted the dresses and went for a top ( with red apples and pears on) and several scarves/stoles (Christmas presents for friends!). Tempted now to get a dress after all as it doesn't look as short as I thought it would be...roll on bankruptcy but with a lovely Autumn wardrobe!!

    1. i like a decent length on a dress/skirt and at 5ft 6" this is great for me. i didnt feel like i was going to indecently expose myself at all!:) its such a great collection isnt it!xx

    2. Glad to hear it's not indecent (I'm 5ft5 and a bitish..) as I succumbed again today (too much succumbing going on!) and ordered one of the dresses... Love your style and blog!

  2. I took that dress in and out of my basket 4 times on the website last Friday! Decided that there was no stretch of the imagination in which I was size 4-6 (the XS was the only size left in that model) so went for the blue spotted one. Also a top and blouse and a stole (same idea as Lovely Treez above), couldn't believe how reasonable the items were- a good friend of mine has 4 Orla Keily bags so I've been admiring for a while!) The dress looks lovely on you- just out of interest, what size did you go for- I went for an S, but wasn't sure on sizing!

    1. Hi Kezzie! I went for a large but really i should of gotten the Medium as when its not belted it is rather large! Medium for me would have been perfect, but i am bigger than you i think ( im a sz 12 usually) I also bought another which is a Medium which is perfect for me, but would fit a size 10 well also i'd say... Not sure that really helped, but hope it made sense!x x

  19. You look beautiful in this dress Rachel!! You'll be pleased to know that I've chose the same one (eeek, sorry, but it's my fave print and colours!) but I had to track it down on eBay where they are now going for £40. There's nothing left on the Uniqlo site. I still figure it's worth it for some Orla. I ordered a scarf as well. So excited! It looks lovely on you. I have some Orla, but only in bedding and towels. The bedding was one of my best bargains, a double with the car print for £8. The poor shop was closing down, which was very sad, but what a bargain for me!! xxx

  45. I love O.K. designs, but you're right, they are indeed very pricey. However, I am just about going bananas over your beautiful dress at the low cost! You lucky girl. And honestly, when I saw these pictures on IG I instantly just thought, "that dress isn't even a O.K. dress, it's a RACHEL dress!" Big time. That design and those colors was made for you. :) And don't fret about your hat, doll, we've all got some dusties lurking around! hehe
P.s. I think I wore my booties on the same day as you. Twins!
