Easy Like Friday Morning...

EBEW - Back To School

UPDATE: adding this to this months EBEW as it is my favourite preppy look! Hope you like it!!

Hellooo lovelies, welcome to friday! And for us Brits a long Bank holiday weekend, aint that grand!

Shirt: Clothing at Tesco
Blazer: Matalan
Jeans & Brogues: Next
Bag (my laptop case) : Vintage, gifted from hubby
Specs: c/o Firmoo

Remember i mentioned the other day that i was actually in work doing really boring stuff. Well this was what i wore on that boring day, and i was going to say that its quite a boring outfit, for me. No brooches, bangles or bells;) just simple preppy style. I've been wearing this a lot lately. In-fact i've been living in these jeans and this blazer on and off all week. yesterday we had an appointment at the vets (Holly has a bady eye, bless her) and i swapped out the shirt for a simple red and white Breton top.
I think i've been craving me some simplicity. Life around us lately is pretty stressy and crazy so i think i've gone super simple with my clothing. And i've enjoyed it, a lot!
These brogues are now well and truly worn in and feel like slippers, i really wanna wear them with some cute dresses and tights to see if i can work that re mix... any suggestions for what to wear with Brogues?
Do you ever crave simplicity in your outfits?
As much as i enjoyed this, i've also been planning some major colour mixing ensembles, coming to a blog post real soon!
Right ladies, i'm off , got a humongous amount of work to do today, with the possibility of the in laws coming this weekend, some new business ventures to look in to and a huge mess to clean. On top of that i have the mother of all mother headaches... nice! Wish me luck...

Love to you all
xxxx

Ps one week countdown till this fella is 2!! eeeeee
Footnote: this photo is from a few weeks ago, his hair is longer and crazier right now. we judge age my hair craziness I was going to take a photo  and put it here, but he was picking his nose and really, no one wants to see that, not even his mama;) xox

  3. Love the bag & brogues! Sometimes a bit of simplicity in the wardrobe can help bring a feeling of calm over you, I find. Maybe just mental. Or maybe it's both. Whatever, you look great! Hope the headache fades fast! Xo

  19. Have I forgotten to mention how much I love you in this outfit?! I must have come back and looked at it at least 5 or 6 times since you posted it. It may be boring to you (cuh-razy!), but I completely adore it. I'd wear it in a heartbeat. Less than a heartbeat, actually. And your glasses just take it to a whole other geek-chic level in the very best way possible. It's pretty much perfection!

Also, Neo - what a dapper little dude :) That photo is too cute!

    1. Oh, and as for what to wear with brogues, I'd go with just about anything! I think just about all of your dresses would look great with them,, especially if you're wearing tights, and especially if it's lace. They also go well with boyfriend jeans (as you've done), jean shorts...just about anything that shows some ankle. The only thing I don't think I'd pair them with is long pants or a maxi skirt...just seems like they'd look a little off that way. But if it's short or cropped, go for it!

  20. Cute, simple outfits like this are just divine for those days where you aren't too crazy about getting super dolled up but still want to look like a doll! And you my dear, look like the cutest jean dolly. :)
Yesterday was my first day back at school and I got all dolled up in a white peter pan collared dress with my purple lace socks and those brown and white brogues I show often on the blog. But today it started out pouring so hard, I didn't feel like making a big show with an outfit so I opted for a cute elephant printed tee and jeans, cuffed at the bottom (very similar to yours - I just love them!) and some turquoise boat shoes. I felt uber comfy and still cute. :) I only wish I'd have gone for this adorable country side-ish look that you pulled off so charmingly.
P.s. Your son is adorable! Get ready for those so-called "terrible twos"! hehe

  23. I feel you, I've been doing a relaxed preppy look myself lately. It's so easy to just grab some rolled up jeans and throw on a blazer. I LOVE it! You added one thing I haven't worn in a while though, those oxfords! They're PERFECT!
