Air Meets Sea

Hey lovelies, keeping well i trust?
I've been working working working my little  big tooshi off! I could do with a nice break, a holiday to Spain or something, you know, feel some sun, warm through to me ol' bones. But alas, it can not be!
So i decided on my week off, to dress like a holiday.. (i'm going somewhere with this i promise) no i didn't roll around in sand and drape seaweed all over myself and walk around in a bikini all day, but donned my nautical belt and BA vintage bag and hit the shops!

Dress: Dorothy Perkins
Belt: Matalan
Tee: Peacocks
Bag: Vintage
Shoes: Davina for Next

I think my new bed spread actually inspired this whole look. is that weird? to be inspired by a bed spread? But just look at it, cute little beach huts!! aren't they lovely?!

I got this bag a few weeks ago on ebay from a Vintage seller, i really love it! its huge inside and i can carry even more junk around with me now. I think the ex Travel Agent in me was attracted to it. Reminded me of booking holidays and taking holidays... ah the good old days (pre kids of course! ;-)
I love any retro travel pieces and think this may be a new collection for me!
And yes i do look preggers in the last photo and no i am most definitely not. It was the huge bowl of lasagne i had just eaten whilst out at the shops! Note to self: take outfit photos before consuming copious amounts of carb based dishes! duh!!
like i mentioned, these were taken a couple of weeks ago whilst i was off from work. I assure you i am not eating lasagne and shopping like a good un' today. i am bored sat in a room with no windows looking at a screen with lots of crappy numbers on...oh the joys!!! Roll on the weekend i say!!

Best wishes all!!

Ps i'm super close to 400 followers and 50,000 views. this is unbelievably awesome!! I'm thinking giveaway to celebrate? What d'ya think lovelies? xx

  16. Oh please DO get draped in seaweed and pose on a rock, that would be TOO funny! How utterly adorable this outfit is, I cannot resist anything nautical (No really, in the great tidy-up over the past two days, I have discovered 3 sailor dresses and 2 tops- oopsie! That doesn't even cover the mound of other nautical items!)- made more so by the beachhut backdrop- WHERE did you get the duvet cover from- seriously, I want to buy it for my boyfriend, he'd LOVE it! Nah, you don't look pregnant but I also have the same problem with lasagna. And chicken- WHY oh why do I get a lasagna and chicken baby!?!?!! (Hmmm, currently eating chicken whilst typing this- cue stomach ballooning!)
Anyway, hope those numbers weren't too dull!

  20. Numbers make my brain go funny, dont know how you do it!!

Love that you were inspired by your bedspread, inspiration certainly does come in all shapes and sizes. I have to agree with one of the previous comments, seeing you on rock with seaweed (and maybe a few seagulls overhead) would be too funny!!

    Luv ya :-D x x

  24. Gorgeous outfit Rachel, and so cute! Love the dots and stripes. Love the bedspread as well - where is that from? (like I need any more bedding..).

I think a giveaway sounds cool!! xx

  25. Ok, Miss Fabulous. Don't you look gorgeous all nautically coordinated with your bedspread :) In addition to your awesome outfits, you also have some of the best sheets ever! Mine are just boring solid colored ones dotted with a few stains from my over-zealous applications of self tanner that occasionally melt off me at night. I'm lovely, I know!
Also, that vintage bag is ah-mazing. I think I actually might have made an "oooh" sound when I saw your photos.

  26. I love your style!! Polka dots are my favourite and with stripes they remind me of a fabulous blouse I have that I can't fit into anymore

  27. Spots, stripes, that belt - I love your take on nautical and the bag is brilliant, just the right injection of humour. Oh and I would be so tempted to cut that bedspread up for a dress. Is that wrong?

  28. Okay. I lurve your bed spread! Inspiration indeed and brilliantly executed outfit, I must say! ♥
Travel agent?! Sounds like a fabulous job! I used to want to be a flight attendant when I was in the Air Force. But I had a boyfriend at the time who made me feel guilty if I were to go. Boo hoo, but I guess it was for a reason because if I had changed jobs, I would have moved to another base and not met Mikey. (The Air Force has hundreds of jobs within the branch and flight attendant for those high ranking individuals that traveled was one of them.)
LOL! You so don't look prego - just slouchy a bit, but you must've been tired! And pretty. :D
P.s. Won't you please roll around in sad and cover yourself in seaweed? I'd like to see that ;) ahaha
