Chilled in Chinos

Pretty much spent my weekend as the title says, chilled out in chino's. i am really liking teal and tomato.. who'd have thought those two would go.
I find when i wear lots of dresses i do look forward to some trouser time. This weekend was spent at the park, dog walking and shopping.
I had a horrible feeling this weekend that i may be getting old, reasons being:
I bought the new Newton faulkner album and have been listening to it non stop. My 9 year old step daughter sings all the songs word perfect. I sing along and get all the words wrong! i remember my parents doing that and thinking," Gaaawd they just don't get it"... yup i'm now that parent!
Secondly, a new supermarket (Sainsburys) opened just down the road and i was so excited!  Thats really sad isnt it!? Whats even worse was i really REALLY enjoyed my little jolly there and couldn't stop talking about how lovely the new Sainsburys is.
So this weekend has made me conclude
a. I'm officially old
b. My life is quite pathetic.

Least im old and happy;)

Glasses: c/o Firmoo

Couple of weeks ago Antonio of Firmoo ( the world's most popular online eyeglasses store where all fabulous four eyed people shop daarrling!)  contacted me and asked if i would like a new pair of specs. As an avid contact lens wearer i thought, heck yeh, i'll give it a go. And d'you know what? I LOVE them. They are wonderfully comfy and they arrived within 5 days with my prescription to a tee! They have some great styles and currently they are doing Free Glasses! If you are blind as a bat like me  and always a bit frugal with your well earnt cash or would just like to look realllllyy coool in some new specs  but dont want to spend loads , then go check them out! I'm already eyeing up this pink pair and i really need some prescription sunnies too, which i've been putting off... but no more!

So have you had a lovely weekend? Tell me the good stuff so i can live vicariously through you!! ;)

* i was given these totally groovy glasses but obviously i totally dig them and opinions are all my own, honest, Guides honour!

  1. Glad you enjoyed the new Sainsbury's so much ;) Haha, supermarkets were my favourite place as a teenager til I had to start spending my own hard earned money in them, now I hate them!! Looking gorgeous as ever, I really love your jumper, the marl kinda shade is lovely :) & your glasses are great too - off for a nosey, I really need new glasses!x

  3. YOU are not old, my dear, but you are fabulous in your colored chinos and new glasses. It is true that after age 25, we do get excited about a whole new set of events, like a new supermarket!

  6. i'm definitely curious as how you could be old because you look to be my age-ish! and getting excited about the little things is great - usually as you get older things impress you less.

and i love these colored jeans. they are wonderful on you.

  7. Know the feeling, haha. With less than 4 weeks til baby number 2 is due....I am feeling tired, old, fat, slow etc. 32 feels like 62 today! We need to snap out of it, cause we are young!!!
Love those chino's...nice departure from all the colored skin tight denim.
    Happy week.

  8. Oh Rachel, I think I'm MUCH older than you (I don't mean just in age) - I've never even heard of Newton Faulkner...?!!! [Haha, have I been in a cave??] I too love it when a new supermarket opens, AND when a new road development is finally finished and the new road opens. Sad, sad, sad!!

Anyway I love this combo - don't think I've worn a grey marl top with red bottoms myself... I'm so gonnna try this! *Off to Pin you, you look super cute n casual*

  9. Aging is the inevitable but you can do it fabulously. The wisdom I have now, I wouldn't trade for being in my 20s again, ever!

The red chinos are fab. Turq & red are such a great combo.

  10. Old and Pathetic certainly don't have to go together all the time. ;)
I totally agree with Jill above. I would never want to go back to my youth. I much prefer knowing that there's still so much to learn, rather than thinking I already know everything. The fact that you're finding joy in life through simple things doesn't mean you're aging...it means you're becoming wiser and more content. Welcome to being old!!

  11. So funny, you! I find myself doing little things that remind me I'm getting old as well (like how when it rained over the weekend, my boyfriend and I decided to stay in rather than go to the new wine bar we were planning on. And then we both started drowsing off around 10:30 that night!). Ah, old age. It's sort of comfy, isn't it?
I LOVE teal & tomato and I love it on you! (And I also love that Holly had to get in at least one photo; she's such a ham!)

  26. I'd be excited too if a Sainsburys opened down the street from me! But that's because we don't have them here in the states, and one of my favorite things to do when I lived in England was to go to Sainsburys and shop and read all the fun and different product names on the packages :)
