Easy Does It

Morning my Lovelies,

How did the weekend treat you? Good i hope!
We were super productive and started sorting out a BIG mess we have in our sun room. It had basically become messy storage but we are working hard to change that. Still a fair bit to go yet, but i can see the floor, which is a good start! Also as a bit of encouragement hub's has said i can have a desk and a sewing machine out there once it's all tidy. This i can not wait for as i have been bitten my the sewing bug thanks to my Sis. Does anyone have any sewing machine recommendations for a beginner?
So no major dressing up of any sorts this weekend, but sometimes this is my favourite way to dress. Ye sure i love the dresses and pretties but sometimes i like to look casual and put together. Stripes are my chic  go to normally when this is the case. I looked back to see if i'd posted an outfit like this before  as it's an outfit that is just so commonly done by myself and others i guess, but can't see that i've ever posted it.
I also saw this pic this lady's blog and pinned it as i just love her style.

Photo's all courtesy of my wonderfully talented hubby!
Striped Breton Top, Bag and Ring: New Look
Trench Coat: Next
Flared Jeans: Diana Vickers for Very
Red Clogs: Lotta From Stockholm

Can i just take a minute for the coat?It is made from sweatshirt/jersey type material and is so soft and comfy to wear. A trench style coat like this is timeless, i've had a couple in the past(that i unfortunately got to big for ) and swear they go with just about everything and are a complete wardrobe staple for any woman. With the severely unpredictable weather at the mo (what am i saying ..All the time in the UK) it's so nice to be able to throw on such a lovely coat.
We went to the park Saturday morning so Neo could run around and so we could tire him out, and this is what i wore. Comfy, warm and practical.
Sometimes i debate on blogging about these outfits, you know the thought; is this outfit good/funky/bright enough. But i kinda like these outfits too....

Wishing you all a super lovely week, and there's still time to enter the give-away if you would like a chance to win this :

  5. Great outfit, and I love these photos. Did you use the Pugly Pixel tutorial to get rid of the background colour? It's fantastically striking. The bow on the back of your jacket is amazing.

  11. You look lovely! And I'd really love to start sewing and buy a sewing machine but I know absolutely nothing about it so I wouldn't know where to start, which is a shame!

  17. I'm so sorry I'm behind on commenting - I had a very busy, very horrendous weekend (I kind of dedicated today's post to venting about it, but I even held a lot back lest my readers think I'm just a big ol' complainy pants. But I know you'll still love me even though I am).
    Anyway.
I'm glad you posted this. Just because it's simple and includes jeans, doesn't mean it doesn't look completely stylish and chic.
Also, I LOVE your coat. I WANT your coat. It's the cutest coat, like, ever in the history of trench coats, and the fact that it's made out of a sweatshirt makes me really covet it.

Congrats on your impending sewing nook! Sounds lovely. I recommend a simple Brother machine as a starter. It's what I learned on, and still use to this day. Once you learn to thread it you're good to go. It's pretty user-friendly for the most part. I can't wait to see what you whip up!

  18. I've posted a few of my comfy/casual outfits on my blog and most of them involved a striped boat neck shirt like this. I just wanted to show that I don't always wear dresses, but 90% of the time I do. I have to show my 10%-of-the-time clothes though, so I can look like a real human. hahaha You recreated the look you linked very well! And I too have a coat very similar to this one you're wearing. It's the same color and sooo warm and soft too, with a little bow on the front. I love how your bow is on the back!! It's so feminine. I just love bows on my clothes, shoes, headbands, etc.
Sorry I have no sewing tips. I can't even sew on a button. :/
