Birds on the wire

Hey lovelies.. You all well? This week as been a-tough-ie! Work is really suffering at the mo, and is our quiet time of year... But i have one word that sums up this week, it is an ugly horrible word that i hate.... Cutbacks! I'll leave it there as i won't want to bring you down on this depressing note. Life isn't perfect but we plod on, as always! Do you ever make an effort to dress up to cheer up? Granted no amount of dressing up could really help the week i've had, but it did make me smile a little more... a nice outfit can do that i find.

Dress: New Look
Tights: Tesco
Shoes: Hush Puppies from Very
Cardigan: Primark
Bow& vintage style brooch: Sunshine and Carousels

My favourite part of this outfit is the bow & brooch. They're so pretty... I have also bought one another lovely  hair ribbon in mustard and plan on getting a festive green too. The lovely maker is Erin and her fabulous crafty blog is sunshine and carousels

This dress has birds on a wire... i used to think they were warming their  little feet on the wires...i was corrected in my adulthood, that this is not the case, lol!

This was also me attempting to do hair probably on one of the worst days ever. we had 70mph gale force winds and torrential rain alllll day long! so as soon as i walked out the door and loaded Neo in to his car seat, the doo was done for :o(
Hence also why piccies are in my office today. not the best location, but i couldnt stand outside in fear of being blown away, and plus they would have made for tragic photos... funny maybe, but not good!

I have some exciting news, i'll be giving you all the details on Saturday 10th, but i feel a little Christmas  giveaway is in order! My festive feelings have dwindled of late so i have decided a christmas competition is in order. How exciting!!!

And finally here's a couple of piccies from our Christmas decorations. I was really concerned that Neo was gunna pull the tree down or at least everything off it, but he actually helped his daddy by passing baubles and attempting to put them on. I gotta say, it was one of the cutest things i'd seen and made my heart sing (christmas carols of course :)

mini real tree :)

The angel we adorn the tree with every year. Mia made this 5 years ago and it is a prized possession

  1. Aw hun I hope things pick up soon - it's a horrible time of year for most businesses isn't it [unless you're santa...!]. You look great, the dress is gorgeous, there was a similar print top in Dorothy Perkins recently that I ummed and ahhed over for aaaaaages. Neo looks gorgeous as ever, how cute is the little penguin suit! We really need to get our tree sorted...I keep passing by the tree shops and balking at the prices, but I so want a real one this year for the little fella, x

  2. I hate the word "cutbacks" too. Not good. I hope things will be looking brighter soon.

Love everything about the outfit, especially the red shoes. The little hearts on them are mega cute.

And Neo is also v. sweet, especially in his little penguin outfit.

  12. Such a cute dress, and I love the length too. So many dresses I find too short to wear as a winter dress with tights, but thats so perfect.

Hope you get some snow in Wales soon! Some pretty flakes in Toronto today but nothing sticking :( I hope we both get a white Christmas! xxx
